I love BARBIE!

Yes, I do! Although, maybe not the way you think. Yes, I used to love playing with dolls, but I've never been a collector or anything. What I mean is, I love Barbie - the clothing brand. Japan has a much more sophisticated and fashionable look at Barbie. American Barbie is not nearly as fashionable! (In fact, I don't know that we have a Barbie that caters to adults. Nicki Manaj does not count!) American Barbie usually is styled too young, or has her face all over it. While Japan Barbie concentrates on a more mature look, using mainly her signature and silhouette. *love*

I love these clothes. Go figure, my favorite coordinates are usually black, white, and pink, too.

FAVORITES!!

I of course also love Barbie's carefree use of bows and polka dots!!

Barbie seems pretty popular among gal too!

Does anyone know who the short haired gal is? I absolutely love her hair dangles!

I saw these fabrics at Hancock Fabrics the other day with Rin, and I've been thinking about them ever since!

I can't wait to go back and buy them. I already have some ideas of what to make with them. A fluffy skirt and hair bow are definitely in order!

I have been wanting to do something Barbie themed for a while now. I've been fiddling with the idea of a Barbie layout for this blog, and of some kind of Barbie photo shoot. At the very least, you can expect some Barbie themed coords!

Birthday Party

I had a birthday party on the 22nd! To be honest, my day got off to a really rough start. It suddenly started storming, and me, my sister, and mom all got in a big fight. But the weather cleared up and everyone apologized. I ended up having a lot of fun!

I did not take very many pictures, so most of these pictures were actually taken with Rin's phone. Her phone likes to give people demon eyes, and I'm too lazy to fix that - so you can just deal with it~!

I made Rin some extensions the night before, and I did my nails!

Happy Birthday to ME~

Last Thursday was my 23rd birthday, and I had a really good time! Although my family made a much bigger deal of it than me! I was ready to just sit at home, but they made me go out to eat, and get a cake too. I was worried about all that getting me off track of my diet - and I was RIGHT! Since my birthday I have not been following my diet. I need to get back on it!

I have been really into Amekaji lately, especially after the secret posted about me in gyaru_secrets.

I like Kanako's style, but I've never really tried to imitate her before.

So on my birthday day I went shopping with my mother to pick up groceries for my birthday party I had on the 22nd, and I dressed up just like Kanako! Or tried to at least...

Sorry for all the camwhoring, lol. I was trying to really get a good picture of all my new cute accessories. And to make up for the fact that I don't have an outfit shot. The top is over sized and short, so it was looking really awkward when I tried to take a quick snap for an outfit shot. So I deleted the pics~

That evening we went to Mikawa for dinner. I usually don't like going to restaurants where they cook in front of you since the portions are small and its so hot. But I had just enough food, and the temp wasn't too bad.

What I wore there. The green shrug photographed a little funny since its so loose. I wish I had some wedge sandals! I need to invest in some, since I love boho style.

He was telling me to get a picture of his 'good side' but I don't think it really worked out, ha ha.

"Freddy" took care of us. He had a really weird accent, and I suspect it was fake! I've heard that a lot of times Asians in the food industry will force an accent because they get better tips that way. But I really liked Freddy, he was funny and he actually talked to us. Its so boring when your server doesn't interact with you!

Heart rice!

The Adorable Hayden. Playing with rice.

VEGGIES SO GOOD.

Preparing the Flaming Mt. Fuji.

BAM.

At this point Freddy starts yelling in his bad accent, " OH NO! FIYA, FIYA! DANJA! WATA!" And he pulls out this little boy statue - I had been wondering what it was doing on his cart. Well...The shorts of the statue slide down, and the statue "peed" the fire out. Lol, it was hilarious and a little disturbing.

Afterwards we went back home for lemon swirl cheescake and peppermint ice cream, yum~

Next up will be a post of my birthday party (as soon as I get the pics from friends since I FAILED at taking pics), and a birthday gets post once I receive them all. Excited~

Some Shopping, and Changes~

So many little things are changing in my life right now! Firstly, I will be 23 tomorrow, yay! I guess... should I be happy about getting older? Theres no benefits of age left for me until senior discount, haha!

My mother and I also FINALLY switched banks. We were banking with BB&T, and I HATED it. I DO NOT recommend this bank to anyone! We have had several little problems with them. They never spell my mothers name right even when she tells them how. My mother had to go in four separate times to order her checks and card - because the teller kept forgetting to order them for her. They are not open at all on the weekends, and only open during the week 'til 5. And the latest thing is that if you do not keep an average of $1500 in you checking, and you receive direct deposit - then they will charge you $10 a month. (That one particularly makes no sense to me, as there is less labor to pay for!) There have been a lot of other things too, but if I get into them this will turn into an all out rant. But we are with Regions now, and it has already been a pleasant experience! We got our debit cards very quickly, I could access my online banking immediately, and the lady who set up our accounts even called me yesterday to see how I was doing~

Another change I'm looking forward to is a new cell phone! Kevin and I are due for an upgrade, but had been waiting to get our tax refunds to pick our new phones out. We are both planning on getting smart phones, but I know I'm going to miss my Qwerty keyboard! I'm probably going to go with the HTC Incredible. Rin has it and likes it. I'm already looking forward to deco-ing the case! Maybe Kevin and I can go pick them out Monday...

I have started "dieting". In quotes, because at this point its more like making healthier choices than a diet, since I haven't been able to go grocery shopping yet. I am following The G.I. Diet, this was such an interesting book. It really opened my eyes to some weight loss myths. I am planning a future post about it - its just hard to squeeze such a comprehensive topic into one post! I am planning on excercising as well, but who knows when that will actually happen. I love using EA Active, but I really haven't felt like devoting any of my time to it lately.

ALSO started back up my self tanning regimen that I had to stop when the tornadoes hit. I have a HUGE compiled self tanner review planned. I have tried out so many different products, that I will probably have to split it up into at least two parts. Look forward to it! I hope some readers will find it really helpful!

And I got my tax refund in! I did my own taxes this year, my dad used to always do them for me - and they were always late! Since I turned them in on time I got more money than I've ever received. While most of that will be used for paying back student loans, I am going to use a bit to buy myself some treats that I haven't been able to afford previously.

Like some extensions! My sister found this site, Luxy, that sells 20 inch Remy human hair extensions - for under $150!! Considering most extensions are about $250-$400, that is an incredible deal! I almost feel like they are too good to be true. I have seen a lot of reviews, and its hard to know what to trust. Luxy has a big youtube following, and they send out  lot of extensions for free to people if they will make a video review for them. But almost every review I have found has been super positive, even from those who actually bought and weren't given their extensions. After digging, I was only able to find two reviews that had complaints.

color #6 - Chestnut Brown

They don't have a a color very close to my hair, which is an ashy brown. So I am going to buy the closest color to it , this Chestnut Brown, and dye it with some Paul Mitchell color I have that is extremely close to my natural color - just slightly warmer. Their pictures do seem...not overexposed, but too well lit. So that the color seems lighter than they actually are. The two reviews that had complaints also said that the color they received seemed darker than the picture shown on the website. They have a video which shows the colors much more accurately.

EDIT: The day after I posted this, Luxy updated their website! They now have new pictures, and they show most of the colors being modeled. I think the pictures are much more accurate, but now I'm having a hard time deciding between Chocolate Brown and Chestnut Brown!

And I'm finally going to buy circle lenses! Hopefully I will be able to find my prescription, and my astigmatism won't make them look wonky on my eye! But I am having a hard time deciding what website to buy from, and what colors to choose. I was planning on buying from Pinky Paradise, but I really don't like that most of their products don't have example photos other than a tiny bad quality jpeg of the contact itself. Its also hard trying to find a color that will look good on light colored eyes, and not have a bad keyhole.

Some colors I'm thinking of getting...

I will probably buy a grey and green, and maybe a blue and violet as well. I am not sold yet on any of the colors. I am going to have to do a lot of review hunting!

Any thought or suggestions for my circle lens hunt?
